Byron Pitts is a television journalist and an author. He has worked for The CBS Evening News and 60 Minutes and is currently at ABCNews. He has published Step Out on Nothing: How Faith and Family Helped Me Conquer Life’s Challenges and Be the One: Six True Stories of Teens Overcoming Hardship with Hope.

 

Byron Pitts was born in 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was raised by his single mother. He had a stutter and was functionally illiterate until he was twelve years old. He graduated from Archbishop Curley High School. He next attended Ohio Wesleyan University. He earned a BA in Journalism and Speech Communication in 1982.

 

He worked local news before getting national coverage occupations. He earned a national Emmy Award for his coverage of the Chicago train wreck in 1999. He earned a national Emmy Award for his coverage of the September 11th attacks. He, also, won a National Association of Black Journalists Award in 2002. He, currently, has won four Associated Press Awards and six regional Emmy Awards as well.

Lou Ferrigno is an actor, personal fitness trainer, former professional bodybuilder, businessman, and a member of law enforcement. He has appeared in approximately two dozen films and on approximately two dozen television programs. He is popularly known as The Incredible Hulk.

 

Louis Jude Ferrigno was born in 1951 in Brooklyn, New York. Ear infections as a baby led to losing the majority of his hearing. His hearing loss was diagnosed when he was three years old and later he began wearing hearing aids. Lou was bullied in school, which led to him becoming fit and bodybuilding. He learned metal working in high school and graduated in 1969.

 

Lou began weight training when he was thirteen years old, however won his first major IFBB Mr. America title when he was eighteen years old. He, also, worked as a sheet metal worker in a Brooklyn factory. He briefly played in the Canadian Football League as well. After returning to the bodybuilding competition circuit, he became IFBB Mr. Universe in 1973 and again in 1974. He retired from competition in 1995. He appeared on many magazine covers during his career.

 

While bodybuilding he appeared in the documentaries Pumping Iron and Stand Tall. He had, also, began his acting career in 1977. He began starring as The Hulk in television’s The Incredible Hulk in 1977. Many, but not all, of his subsequent roles have been as himself or The Hulk on television, as well as, in movies.

 

Lou has trained and been sworn into multiple sheriff departments as a volunteer. He was, also, a contestant on 2012’s The Celebrity Apprentice. He won $50,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on one task.

 

Lou married in 1978, but divorced a year later. He married again in 1980. He and his second wife, Carla Green, have three children.

 

Lou believes his hearing loss led him to accomplish all that he has in life. He was determined to be and do all that he could. Be inspired! Have a bright day!

Reese Witherspoon is an actress, singer, producer, philanthropist, and businesswoman. She has appeared in over a dozen television programs and over three dozen films. She has been nominated for and/or won awards and honors throughout her career. She gained fame for her roles in Legally Blond and then Sweet Home Alabama. Subsequent roles have added to her fame and accolades.

 

Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon was born in 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her father was a doctor and in the United States Army Reserve. Her mother was a nurse and a professor of nursing. Reese has an older brother. While her father was in the military, they lived in Germany for four years before moving to Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated from Harpeth Hall School. She then was an English major at Stanford University for a year before leaving to pursue acting. When she was seven years old, she had begun this part of her journey by appearing in television advertisements and then later other television and film appearances.

 

In 1991, she was cast in the film The Man in the Moon. Other films led to television’s miniseries Return to Lonesome Dove. More roles later led to her portrayal of June Carter Cash in Walk the Line. She did have to sing in front of audiences for this role as well. Later in 2013, Reese recorded a cover of a Sinatra duet with Michael Buble To Be Loved. She has continued to act and perform in a variety of genres of television and film.

 

Reese owned the production company Type A Films before gaining full control of the production company Pacific Standard in 2016. In 2015, she had launched a fashion, accessory, and home decor line named Draper James. In 2016, she, also, co-formed Hello Sunshine to tell female driven stories on film, television, and other forms of media. In 2017, Reese became the storyteller-in-chief of Elizabeth Arden, Inc.

 

Reese was married to actor Ryan Phillippe from 1999 until 2007. They had a daughter and later a son. She married Jim Toth in 2011. They had a son in 2012. Reese has three children.

 

Philanthropy for women and children’s charities and causes has been a big part of her life as well. She is a supporter of Save the Children. She is on the Board of the Children’s Defense Fund. In 2007, she became the Global Ambassador for Avon Products. The Avon Foundation supports women, focuses on breast cancer research, and the prevention of domestic violence. She supports the Child Mind Institute, which focuses on helping children struggling with mental health and learning disorders.

Hill Harper is an actor, author, businessman, and philanthropist. He has appeared in dozens of films and television programs. He has published a half dozen books. He supports well over a dozen charities and causes. He, also, has started an all-natural personal care line and businesses aimed to train and empower youngsters, such as Roasting Plant Coffee in Detroit, Michigan.

 

Francis Eugene Harper was born in 1966 in Iowa City, Iowa. He started acting when he was seven years old and later changed his name to Hill to honor his ancestors. In 1984, he graduated from Bella Vista High School. He next graduated with honors from Brown University in 1988. In 1992, he graduated with honors from Harvard Law School. He, also, received a Master of Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. While at Harvard, he acted with Boston’s Black Folks Theater Company.

 

After receiving his degrees, he moved to Los Angeles, California. In 1993, he was on Life Goes On and had a reoccurring role on Married…with Children. He made his film debut in Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings. Hill has received awards and recognition, including receiving the NAACP Image Award for his role on CSI: NY. 

 

Hill Harper is inspirational for his accomplishments, as well as, his desire to empower others. Having a clean bill of health after surviving thyroid cancer is another reason for others to feel inspired. Be inspired! Have a bright day!

Bellamy Young is an actress, singer, and producer. She gained fame and won awards for her role on television’s Scandal. She has appeared in dozens of films and television programs during her career.

 

Amy Maria Young was born in 1970 in Asheville, North Carolina. She was raised by her adoptive parents until her father passed away and his best friend then helped raise her. She later chose Bellamy as a first name to honor this man when she had to change her name to join the Screen Actors Guild. She graduated in 1987 from Asheville High School and then attended Yale University. There she studied English and Theatre and graduated in 1991. She had, also, spent a summer at the British American Drama Academy in England.

 

Amy began acting on stage both on and off-Broadway. In 1995, she made her television debut on television’s Another World. In 1999, she made her film debut in Black and White. In 2011, she was cast in Scandal. In 2015, Bellamy released her first album.

 

Bellamy supports PETA, The Humane Society of the United States, the domestic violence organization Helpmate, Operation Blankets of Love, and other causes and organizations. Be inspired! Have a bright day!

Jamie-Lynn Sigler is an actress, singer, and author. She gained fame by starring in the HBO series The Sopranos, followed by her role in the HBO series Entourage. She has had roles in over a dozen films and a dozen and a half television programs.

 

Jamie-Lynn Sigler was born in 1981 in Jericho, New York. She has two brothers. Her family is Jewish. When she was seven years old, she began acting and singing. She, also, attended Jericho High School and studied at the Cultural Arts Playhouse.

 

In 1997, Jamie-Lynn was cast as Meadow Soprano in The Sopranos which aired with her in the part from 1999 until 2007. She had other work during this time, including roles on stage in Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. She has continued to work since The Sopranos concluded as well.

 

In 2001, Jamie-Lynn released a pop album. In 2012, she released a single and appeared in its music video. In 2002, her co-authored autobiography had also been published.

 

Jamie-Lynn has been married twice. Her first marriage was from 2003 until 2006. She then married Major League Baseball player Cutter Dykstra in 2016. They have a son. Also in 2016, Jamie-Lynn disclosed that she has been living with Multiple Sclerosis since she was diagnosed when she was twenty years old. Jamie-Lynn has become recognized for her work with and for MS and for supporting the American Cancer Society.
