Jessica Cox is a motivational speaker and author. She was born without arms and performs all of her daily tasks with her feet, including driving, pumping gas, and putting in her contact lenses.
Jessica Cox was born in 1983 in Sierra Vista, Arizona. A birth defect caused her to be born without arms. When she was ten years old, she started training in taekwondo. She stopped using prosthetic arms when she was fourteen years old. That year she, also, earned her first black belt.
After high school, she attended the University of Arizona. She has continued to train in taekwondo and earn her second and third degree black belts. In 2005, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in communications.
Jessica has become the world’s first licensed armless airplane pilot. She first flew a single engine airplane in 2005. She earned her pilot’s license in 2008. She is qualified to fly a light-sport airplane. She has continued with taekwondo as well. In 2014, she participated in the Arizona State Championship. She did not participate in a special abilities ring. She earned the 2014 Arizona State Champion title in forms.
Today, she works as a motivational speaker. She has shared her message in countries around the world. In 2015, she, also, published her autobiographical self-help book Disarm Your Limits. The documentary Right Footed was inspired by Jessica Cox’s life as well.
