Christian Slater is an actor and producer.  He has been involved in numerous films, stage, and television productions.  He began acting professionally in 1981 and rose to fame following his 1988 role in the film Heathers.

 

Christian Michael Leonard Slater was born in 1969 in New York, New York.  His parents and other family members were in show business and he attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia of Music & Art and Performing Arts.

 

When he was eight years old, he appeared in the soap opera One Life to Live.  Other roles and his Broadway debut were next.  Christian Slater has appeared in over seventy films and had about thirty roles on television.  He has been nominated for and/or won multiple awards.

 

Christian has had problems staying sober and has been arrested more than once.  He has expressed how important that he feels his staying sober is to his life.  On a more positive note, Christian has been involved with multiple charities.  After his friend and follow actor River Phoenix died in 1993, he donated his Interview with the Vampire earnings to River’s favorite charities.  In addition to this and supporting Nelson Mandela’s AIDS awareness charity, Christian has supported other charities, visited wounded soldiers, and more.

 

Christian Slater married Ryan Haddon in 2000.  They had two children, a boy and a girl.  They separated in 2005 and divorced in 2007.  He later began dating Brittany Lopez.  They were married in 2013.

 

We all go through positive and negative times in our lives.  What we choose to do beyond our ups and downs can really make a huge impact on others as well.  From his acting roles to his charity work, Christian Slater has had tremendous impact.  Be inspired!  Have a bright day!
