Maureen McCormick is an actress, recording artist, and author.  She became well-known for her role as Marcia Brady on The Brady Bunch.  While this television show made a tremendous impact and is revisited, it quit being made in 1974.  Maureen had to struggle through difficult times and addictions.  She has succeeded in battling mental health issues including depression, bulimia, and drug addiction.  She has continued to work and now lives with her family in California.

 

Maureen Denise McCormick was born in 1956 in Woodland Hills, California.  She had three older brothers.  When she was six years old, she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley beauty contest.  She first began appearing in commercials in 1964.  She then had television roles before she began portraying Marcia Brady on The Brady Bunch in 1969.  The show was canceled in 1974, however there were spinoffs and movies made with the cast.

 

Maureen then had other film and television roles, including reality television, and made her stage debut.  Maureen, also, recorded four studio albums with The Brady Bunch cast.  In 1995, she released her first and currently only own studio album.  In 2008, she published her autobiography, Here’s the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice.  In 2016, she faced a fear and competed on Dancing with the Stars. 

 

Maureen McCormick married fellow actor Micheal Cummings in 1985.  They had a daughter in 1989.  They live in Westlake Village in California.  Mental health issues and her personal family disputes were part of her marriage, however she has continued to battle and persevere.  Maureen has said that former The Brady Bunch cast members help her.
