Trevor Noah is a stand-up comedian, an actor, a television host, has appeared on films, and published an autobiographical book. Today, he is best known as the television host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central. He took the show over following Jon Stewart.
Trevor Noah was born in 1984 in Johannesburg, South Africa. His mother is of Xhosa descent and his father is of Swiss German descent. His parents relationship was illegal at the time, his mother was jailed, and his father moved back to Switzerland. She and her mother later raised Trevor.
In 2002, Trevor Noah began starring in a South African soap opera. He next hosted his own radio show which led to more work in South Africa. Later, he dropped his radio show to focus more on comedy. Performing all over South Africa with international comedians led to Trevor moving to the United States in 2011. He appeared on late night shows in the US and then was the star of a 2012 documentary. More work led to him taking over hosting The Daily Show in 2015.
Trevor Noah has been involved in controversies due to his comedy, however has been supported by groups thought to have been disparaged. His book, also, reveals aspects of perseverance and comedy in his story. Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood was published in 2016.
Trevor Noah began dating model Jordyn Taylor in 2015. He received awards for his work in 2012 and 2015. In 2016, he was nominated for NAACP Image Awards as well. The ceremony is in February of 2017.
