There are many things, people, and organizations that can bring out inspiration. Sometimes an inspirational person can bring more attention to a cause or vice versa. Sometimes a story can be inspirational. A person that achieves success despite a disability, can inspire people to achieve.
Sudha Chandran is an actress and Bharatanatyam dancer. She has appeared in over four dozen television roles and three dozen film roles in India. She was a dancer before she lost her leg after an accident in 1981, however after some time she continued to dance with a prosthetic.
Sudha was born in 1965 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Following her primary education she attended Mithibai College. She earned her B.A. and M.A. in Economics. After her accident and subsequent break from dancing, she returned to perform in Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. Her film career began with 1984’s Mayuri.
Sudha married an assistant director, Ravi Dang, in 1994. She received an honorary doctorate from Invertis University. She has, also, received over half a dozen awards. Her biography is part of the curriculum for school children. Overcoming her disability and achieving success is inspirational.
