A daily dose of Inspiration for you!

I have been taking the approximately month and a half to review the United States past Presidents.  All adult citizens are preparing to vote for the next President of the United States of America.  Looking back, may help prepare each of us to move forward.  We can be inspired by the Presidents of the United States of America.

George W. Bush was the 43rd President of the United States.  He served from January 20, 2001 until January 20, 2009.  He is, also, a politician, an author, and a businessman.

George Walker Bush was born in 1946 in New Haven, Connecticut.  He was raised in Midland and Houston, Texas with five siblings, although one died when she was three years old of leukemia.  George went to a boarding school, Phillips Academy, in Massachusetts.  He then attended Yale University.  He graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts in History.  He next attended Harvard Business School and earned a M.B.A.  From 1968 until 1974 he served with the Texas Air National Guard and the Alabama Air National Guard.

George W. Bush married Laura Lane Welch in 1977.  They settled in Midland, Texas.  In 1981, they had twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna.  George worked in the oil industry.  In 1988, he moved with his family to Washington, D.C. to work on his father’s Presidential campaign.  He returned to Texas after his father became President.  He purchased a share in the Texas Rangers baseball franchise.  Beginning in 1989 and for five years, he became a managing general partner.

In 1995, he began serving as the Governor of Texas.  He continued as Governor until 2000.  His next elected position was to become President.  He became the second son to become President after his father, George H. W. Bush, had been President.  The Adams Presidents were the first father/son pair in the Presidency.

The September 11 terrorist attacks occurred shortly into his first term.  He launched his “War on Terror”.  This included the War in Afghanistan and later the Iraq War.  Hurricane Katrina occurred in August 2005, after he had began his second term.  In late 2007, the economy went into the “Great Recession”.  His approval ratings fluctuated greatly during his Presidential terms.

After his Presidency, the Bushes returned to Texas.  He has published writing, including his memoirs and a bibliography about his father.  He does public speaking engagements and paints.  The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund is one of the humanitarian efforts he has been involved in.  Nicknames of his include 43, Bush Jr., and Dubya.  Be inspired!  Have a bright day!
