A daily dose of Inspiration for you!

I have been taking the approximately month and a half to review the United States past Presidents.  All adult citizens are preparing to vote for next President of the United States of America.  Looking back, may help prepare each of us to move forward.  We can be inspired by the Presidents of the United States of America.

Bill Clinton was the 42nd President of the United States.  He served from January 20, 1993 until January 20, 2001.  He is, also, a politician, humanitarian, and author.

William Jefferson Blythe Jr. was born in 1946 in Hope, Arkansas.  His father died three months before he was born.  His mother moved to study nursing and left young Bill to live with her parents.  In 1950, his mother returned and then married Roger Clinton Sr.  Bill now had a half-brother as well.  Bill Clinton was an active student at Hot Springs School.

Bill then attended Georgetown University and later graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service in 1968.  He then briefly attended University College, Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship before leaving to attend Yale University.  He earned a Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School.  In 1971, he met and began dating Hilary Rodham.  They moved in together in California and then married in 1975.  Their only daughter, Chelsea, was born in 1980.

In 1977, he had become the Attorney General of Arkansas.  He next served as the 40th and 42nd Governor of Arkansas.  This service ended in 1992 before he became President in 1993.

Bill Clinton served two Presidential terms with Al Gore as his Vice President.  Economic expansion occurred and the North American Free Trade Agreement was signed.  Clinton passed welform reform initiatives and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.  The U.S. military intervened in Bosnia and Kosovo.  The Iraq Liberation Act was signed.

After leaving office, Bill Clinton had high approval ratings.  He has written books, done public speaking engagements, stayed politically active, and been involved in humanitarian causes.  In 2009, he was named United Nations Special Envoy to Haiti.  He has, also, supported his wife, and former Secretary of State, Hillary’s political campaigns.

Places and things have been named after President Clinton or made to honor him.  He has been awarded honorary degrees.  Along with honors he has been given in places around the world, is the Presidential Medal of Freedom he was awarded by President Obama in 2013.  The Clinton Foundation was founded by him in 1997 to bring people together to face challenges.

The Comeback Kid, Slick Willie, and The Big Dog are among the nicknames he acquired during his life and career.  Some nicknames came from scandals he has been through.  Other nicknames came from positive aspects of his personality and life.  Nicknames are, also, discussed shall he become the husband of the first female President.  Be inspired!  Have a bright day!
