I want to take the approximately month and a half to review the United States past Presidents as Inspiration. All adult citizens are preparing to vote for the next President of the United States of America. Looking back, may prepare each of us to move forward. We can be inspired by the Presidents of the United States of America.
Thomas Jefferson was the 3rd President of the United States of America. He held the office from March 4, 1801 until March 4, 1809. His Vice President was Aaron Burr during his first term and George Clinton during his second term. Thomas Jefferson was, also, a lawyer, author, architect, inventor, planter, and statesman. He was a Founding Father as well. He was the main writer of the Declaration of Independence.
Thomas Jefferson was born in 1743 in Shadwell, Colony of Virginia, British America. He had nine siblings. Hid father died in 1757. Thomas inherited half of the estate, including the home, Monticello. He attended and then graduated from the College of William & Mary in 1762. He married Martha Wayles in 1772. They had six children, however she died shortly thereafter.
Thomas Jefferson had several nicknames including The Apostle of Democracy, The Man of the People, and The Sage of Monticello. He is known for his writing, including correspondence with others and his autobiography. He is known, also, for his interest in farming, architecture, birds, wine, education, language, inventions, books, and philosophy.
Thomas Jefferson is considered by many to have been one of USA’s greatest Presidents. He died on the same day as John Adams, July 4, 1826. He has been honored by memorials and tributes including sculptures, postage, and currency. He is one of the Presidents with his face carved into Mount Rushmore. Be inspired! Have a bright day!
