Sometimes news, events, or others factors bring holidays or people into the limelight again and it compels me to address it or them again. I’ve written about today’s inspiration before, however I wrote about her a second time nonetheless. I realize I’ve done this before, but hope it can still inspire you.
Jennifer Garner is an actress, film producer, and humanitarian. She has appeared on television, in film, and on Broadway. She became more well-known after starring as a CIA officer on the television series Alias. For her role, she was nominated for and won awards.
Jennifer Anne Garner was born in Houston, Texas. When she was a child, her father was transferred with his job, and the family moved multiple times. She has two sisters. They lived in Princeton, West Virginia; Calgary, Alberta; and then Charleston, West Virginia. She graduated from George Washington High School in 1990. She attended Denison University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama. In 1993, she studied at the National Theatre Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center. Performing in plays in Atlanta led her to pursue acting in New York City.
Jennifer was then cast in a made-for-television movie, Zoya. She had appearances in popular series and had roles in two short-lived series. In 1996, she was cast in another made-for-television movie, Harvest of Fire. The movie roles in Dude, Where’s My Car? and Pearl Harbor came in 2000 and 2001 respectively. In 2001, she was cast in Alias. She won the nomination for Golden Globe Award for Best Actress-Television Series Drama four times and Emmy Award nominations. She won a Screen Actors Guild Award. In 2005, she directed an Alias episode and received producing credit during the series’ final season.
Other movie roles during Alias’run led to her working with Ben Affleck. She had married Scott Foley in 2000, however they divorced in 2004. She then wed Ben Affleck in 2005. She founded the production company Vandalia Films that year as well. She and Ben have had three children.
Since 2014, Jennifer has served on the board of trustees for Save the Children. She is especially involved in early childhood education programs. She is involved in other programs and is politically active. She campaigned for an anti-paparazzi bill for celebrity children. It became California law. Be inspired! Have a bright day!
