Kelly Maria Ripa was born in Stratford, New Jersey.  She has a sister who currently is a children’s book author.  Kelly began studying ballet when she was three.  She was encouraged to pursue acting when she was in high school.  She was “discovered” during her senior year.  She briefly attended Camden Community College before dropping out and moving to New York City to pursue acting.

In 1986, Kelly became a regular dancer on Dancin’ on Air.  This led to Dance Party USA.  In 1990, she was cast as Hayley Vaughn on All My Children.  She acted in this role for over a decade.  In 2001, she became a co-host on Live! with Regis and Kelly.  In 2011, the show became Live! with Kelly until Michael Strahan took over Regis Philbin’s place in 2012 and the show became Live! with Kelly and Michael.  In 2016, the show once again became Live! with Kelly when Michael Strahan left the show.

During her time as a co-host on Live! she also acted on the sitcom Hope & Faith from 2003 until 2006.  She has, also, appeared in feature films, including Marvin’s Room and The Stand-In.  Kelly has been a spokesperson for several companies.  In 2008, Kelly oversaw The Kelly Ripa Collection of a fitness apparel line by Ryka.

In 2007, Kelly and her husband, Mark Consuelos, started their production company Milojo.  Their company’s name is a combination of parts of their three children’s names: Michael, Lola, and Joaquin.  Its first feature film was The Streak.  Series and films have followed.

Kelly has won awards for her role on All My Children, co-hosting Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade, and for variations of Live!  The Broadcast Pioneers inducted her into their Hall of Fame in 2010.  Other accolades include her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Be inspired!  Have a bright day!
