A daily dose of Inspiration for you!

Today’s source of Inspiration is a celebrity that has been an actor since 1999 despite his relatively young age.  Daniel Radcliffe was born in 1989 and his acting debut was when he was just ten years old in a television film on the BBC, David Copperfield.


Daniel Radcliffe was born in Fulham, London, England.  Both of his parents acted as children and his mother was a casting agent for several films on the BBC.  He is an only child and attended boys schools.  After the first Harry Potter film he continued his education with on-set tutors.  He decided against college or university.  Daniel was pursued for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s ( or Philosopher’s in England) Stone.  His parents agreed to a two-movie contract at first.  He continued acting in the film series receiving award nominations for the fourth film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.  Award nominations continued with 2009’s release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth film.  The last book was made into two movies with the last movie bring released in 2011.


Stage and other screen roles continued for Daniel during and since the Harry Potter series.  Award nominations and awards have continued to be given to Daniel Radcliffe for his work.  He wants to continue to act and write.


In 2007, he published several poems under a pen name, Jacob Gershon.  In 2008, he revealed he has a developmental coordination disorder.  This neurological disorder prevents him from doing simple tasks, like writing, at times.  He has a home in the West Village of Lower Manhattan, New York City, New York.


Daniel has filmed public service announcements for The Trevor Project, which is for gay teen suicide prevention.  He advocates for equal rights and encourages other public figures to do the same.  The organization awarded him with the “Hero Award” in 2011.  Daniel has supported numerous children’s and other charities.


Daniel remains close with Harry Potter co-stars and his family.  He has been dating an American, Erin Darke, since 2012.  Be inspired!  Have a bright day!
