A daily dose of Inspiration for you!

Today’s source of Inspiration is a celebrity that is an actor, filmmaker, comedian, and writer.  Seth Rogen began his career with stand-up comedy, however his jokes were not his only teenage writing.  When he was just 13, he started writing the film Superbad with hid friend Evan Goldberg.  At 16 years old, Seth won the Vancouver Amateur Comedy Contest.

Seth Rogen was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  His parents met on Kibbutz Beit Alfa in Israel.  His father was American and the couple settled in Canada, thereby Seth was a citizen of both countries by birth.  His mother was supportive of Seth choosing to pursue a career in comedy.  She drove him to stand-up gigs.  He attended a local casting call and got a role on the television series Freaks and Geeks.  His family relocated to Los Angeles, California.

Freaks and Geeks aired for one season in 1999.  He went on to a role on the television show Undeclared.  He was, also, a staff-writer on the show until it was canceled in 2002.  Despite being just 16 when he moved, Seth became part of the “frat pack” with other famous comedians.  This was a writing and idea generating group.  Seth had movie roles and was a writer for Sasha Baron Cohen’s last season of Da Ali G Show.  He was nominated for an Emmy for his work.  Seth starred in and co-produced The 40-Year-Old Virgin starring fellow “frat packer” Steve Carell.  This and other roles led to his break-through 2007 role in Knocked Up.  Superbad came out next.  Seth then took on voice roles in a few animated films.  He acted in Pineapple Express as well.  Voice work and live roles have continued.

Seth Rogen married writer/actress Lauren Miller in 2011.  Her mother suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease and Seth has become a caregiver and advocate to raise awareness of the disease.  Seth started Hilarity for Charity to further this cause.  He and his wife have been honored for raising awareness of Alzheimer’s and for their fundraising efforts.

Seth Rogen has been nominated and won awards for his work as a comedian, writer, and more.  Be inspired!  Have a bright day!
