There are people that are inspirational for multiple reasons.  Katherine Heigl is one of these people.  She is an actress, film producer, humanitarian, and former fashion model.  Katherine Heigl is inspirational.


Katherine Heigl was born on November 24, 1978 in Washington, D.C.  She has an older sister who was adopted and two older brothers, although one died in 1986.  Her family moved a couple of times before settling in Connecticut.  At nine years old Katherine signed with a modeling agency and started working as a child model.  She worked in magazine advertising before getting a television spot for Cheerios cereal.  She made her film debut in 1992.  She continued to work in films and do modeling work.


In 1999, she began working on television programs.  She has worked on television programs, televisions movies, big-screen films, and done more modeling.  In 2005, she began working on Grey’s Anatomy, which became a successful and prize winning role.


Katherine Heigl married singer Josh Kelley in December of 2007.  In 2009, they adopted a daughter from South Korea.  In 2012, they adopted a second daughter from the United States.  They are expecting a biological son in 2017.


Katherine Heigl is an inspiring philanthropist.  She has worked with Best Friend Animal Society and she and her mother started Hounds of Hope.  Both organizations support dogs and animal adoption.  By 2014 Katherine had eight dogs in her family.  She has remained dedicated and committed to human adoption and has been honored by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute.  She was also honored by the American Cancer Society for her work to raise awareness of cancer and issues related to the disease.  She is, also, a strong proponent of organ donation and has worked for Donate Life America.  Her brother’s organs were donated after his death.
