Many foundations and their causes can be inspirational. Many individuals and groups of people do things to help and support others. Kids Conquering Cancer was started to fight cancer, but also to show kids what they can do to help. They have accomplished both goals.
Rachel Hollander started Kids Conquering Cancer when she was a child ans had a friend, Haley Nathan, battling the disease. She attended a Relay for Life event in West Bloomfield, Michigan with her grandmother. When she was there she noticed there were no teams of children. She set about to change that. Over the years from 2006, she recruited hundreds of kids and others to help with the 24 hour event and raised $100,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Haley Nathan lost her life battling cancer, however Rachel Hollander accomplished her goals for the group. She has inspired many children and other people. Children have seen the impact their action can have on others, including organizations. Rachel has gone on to college to study pediatric oncology.
Be inspired! Have a bright day!
