Father’s Day is inspirational. Fathers have been celebrated since the Middle Ages in Catholic Europe. The day of this celebration has been March 19th. It was brought to Latin America and celebrated on the same day. Fathers are celebrated on different days in March, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, and December in various locations around the world. Father’s Day has been celebrated in the United States on the third Sunday in June since the early twentieth century.
There were multiple attempts to establish a holiday to celebrate fathers and their parenting roles. Today, fathers are celebrated with special meals, activities/sports they enjoy, and gifts. Gifts are often related to activities they enjoy and things men typically wear, such as ties. In some places this holiday celebrates all men and even male children.
The day celebrates fathers, fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence fathers have on society. Be inspired! Have a bright day!
