Inspiration can be found everyday. People’s response to crisis can inspire. Whether the crisis is a natural disaster or something else, people do step up to help each other. Floods, hurricanes, wildfires, and earthquakes have brought out many different types of helpers. Regardless of motivation, people that need help receiving assistance is what matters most. Many people have good intentions and just want to do what is right.
Other disasters have occurred as well. Flint, Michigan has needed help as a result of their water crisis. The water was contaminated with lead and hurting those drinking, cooking with, and even washing with it. Many celebrities stepped up to help. Individuals such as: Cher, Ellen DeGeneres, Jimmy Fallon, Big Sean, Mark Wahlberg, and Aretha Franklin have donated bottled water and money. Groups and artists such as: Water.org, which was co-founded by Matt Damon and usually provides drinking water to undeveloped countries, CNN, Pearl Jam, Meek Mil, Jack White of The White Stripes, Eminem, Madonna, Wiz Khalifa, and Sean “Diddy” Combs have helped. Athletes from the Detroit Lions, Washington Redskins, Seattle Seahawks and others have helped. The United States government and other government agencies have given given aid. Others, such as: Art Van, Convoy of Hope, and other organizations have helped. Help has came from famous sources and student organized fundraisers, volunteers passing out, collecting, and fundraising, and church and community groups.
While aid is still needed, other events have occurred that need humanitarian aid as well. At times, with everyone’s personal lives still going on, these types of crises can make giving aid seem overwhelming. That makes each seemingly small contribution that much more inspiring. Whether you’re part of something small or big, giving any humanitarian aid is inspiring. Helping one another in any way can contribute to a grand result, even if it’s a grand result for one individual.
Be inspired! Have a bright day!
