A daily dose of Inspiration for you!

What picture comes to your mind when you think of the word doctor?  Do you think of your doctor?  Do you think of a doctor you had as a child?  I, actually, still get a picture of Dr. Doug Ross in a white lab coat in my mind.  If you were not a ER fan perhaps you don’t know that is the role that made George Clooney famous.  George Clooney is now known as an actor, screenwriter, producer, director, and activist.  His life, work, and success can inspire us all.

George Clooney was born in Lexington, Kentucky.  His family has some famous and historical connections (Nancy Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln’s mother, is related).  However, he was raised in a somewhat traditional, religious family.  He lived in Ohio and Kentucky growing up.  He had a variety of jobs as a young man before getting roles as an extra then supporting roles on television.  His television work led to films and awards.  Acting in films led to more awards and work behind the scenes.

George Clooney has been active in politics and with humanitarian work as well.  He is opposed to war and supports President Obama and gay rights.  He is part of a group of actors in Not On Our Watch.  This organization works to prevent and to aid global atrocities.  He has worked with and founded groups.  You can watch and read about his part in the struggles to end mass atrocities and get attention and aid for tragedies and global events.

Whether you think of an emergency room doctor or Ocean’s Eleven or another movie, George Clooney has definitely made a mark.  Support things you care about.  Stay involved.  Enjoy your day.
