A daily dose of Inspiration for you!

A rags to riches story.  Homeless to…Rocky?  I feel like I grew up with the Rocky movies, but I never knew much about Sylvester Stallone’s life.  I’ve learned that his is a true rags to riches story.

Sylvester Stallone’s parents moved a couple of times before divorcing when he was nine.  As a young man Sylvester Stallone ended up living in a bus terminal in New York City after being evicted from his apartment.  He had a few small acting roles before he was hit by inspiration.  There is disagreement about the source of his inspiration, but whether it was attending a professional boxing match or reading an autobiography he was inspired to write the Rocky screenplay.  He held on to his script when the offer was made to buy it and have someone else play the lead.  He ended up selling it and getting to play the lead himself.  Rocky led to Rambo.  The optimist and the pessimist.  The rest as they say is history. He has now been in many movies and is successful.

Sylvester Stallone is now known as an actor, a screenwriter, a film director, and a boxing promoter.  He lives in Beverly Hills, California and is a father of five children.  He is also an artist.  He has shown his expressionistic and abstract canvas paintings in a gallery.

From acting and directing to writing and painting there is a lot more to Sylvester Stallone than meets the eye.  He was raised as a strict Catholic, but considers himself a spiritual man now and is not part of an organized Church.  He is also an active supporter of the Republican Party.  From rags to riches.  Inspiration led to his success.

Watch a Sylvester Stallone movie.  Enjoy the results of inspiration.
